Saw an old friend today...

  So I ended up in North Bryan about lunch time today and thought I'd stop in and see an old friend.  The little green and white house that sits all alone on Hwy 21 known as Shannon's Cafe had a standing room only crowd.  I was just hoping they still served their chicken and dressing on Thursdays. 

Sure enough, when I got to the front of the line, there it was!  I'm so excited that some things never change!  I had me some good ol' southern comfort food for sure today.  Baked chicken and dressing with gravy, cranberry sauce, cream corn, and mac & cheese!  Oh my goodness, just a little taste of heaven.   If you haven't been to Shannon's, or like me, you've been away too long, you owe it to yourself to go by and have…

Depends on who you ask!  Some say it's Texas A&M.  No argument here.  Where would we be without the excitement, the notoriety, the income and stability that Texas A&M brings?  I could go on and on about dear ol' Texas Aggies!

But we are more than just a university filled with pride and traditions.  We are a hub for non-profits, full of civic and national pride, an ever-growing city (cities) with small town feel and conservative values.

Last Saturday, May 30th, over 1,000 locals gathered at Veterans Park in College Station to view the newly dedicated Vietnam War Memorial sculpture.
